Hey there! It's Nicole from @plansthatblossom back with another tutorial!
This time, I'm going to be showing you how to create an ombre gradient effect without the complex layering that can sometimes bleed through your pages!
Step 1: Choose your colors!
Think about what type of gradient you'd like to choose, and pick colors that complement one another. Organize them in the order that you would like them to appear on your page. I use my beloved Faber-Castell pitt artist brush pens - they come in so many colors, so the possibilities are endless!
Step 2: Choose direction!
Once your colors and order are chosen, think about how you'd like to lay it out. You could go from dark to light, or light to dark... you can have the colors meet one another in the center of your shape... or you can even color an object based on how light would hit it to give it a touch of realism.
Step 3: Let's Do This!
Choose your starting point and carefully start adding color one by one!
Here, I've shown you a few different styles to try!
A fun way to elevate this style, is to use different color stories. For instance... you can use an autumn palette, or even get fun with it and try a rainbow!
Now that you're well versed in making simple ombre gradients, try applying them to different shapes and doodles!
