If you are new to this blog, let me fill you in about Take the Challenge. Every month, on the first Monday, I'll post a challenge and my take on it. You'll have 12 days to take this on. Leave a comment to the challenge post with a link to your creation based on that challenge. We will pick ONE winner from among the readers who participated in that month's challenge. And the winners will get a prize from Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft®.
March is here and we are talking FLOWERS! Your challenge this month is to create a project with handmade flowers.
I created the above scrapbook layout as my take for this challenge. Let me walk you through the steps.
I started with the newly released Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Paper Flowers Kit. You can do the same or create your own using supplies from your stash. In this kit, you'll find a fully illustrated Design Guide, 4 Gelatos (Metallic Melon, Metallic Grape, Lemon, Snow Cone), Texture Gems, Ice Liner, 72 Foam Adhesive Circles, 20 Crepe Paper Flower Pieces, 20 Cardstock Paper Flower Pieces, 10 Kraft Paper Flower Pieces, 10 Vellum Paper Flower Pieces, 12 Kraft Paper Tags, 8 Crepe Paper Flower Stickers, Spray Bottle, Paintbrush and Palette Knife.
I decided to start with the kraft cardstock flowers, coloring them with the Gelatos colors.
Ink up a script stamp with Stamper's Big Brush pen BLACK. Stamp on the colored paper flowers. Repeat with Vellum and Crepe Paper flowers, also from the Kit.
Stack the floral parts for your favorite combinations.
Add some interesting dimensional patterns to your flowers using the clear Texture Gem. Let dry thoroughly.
Once completely dry, these dimensional dots will provide a resist design if you add more color to the floral centers or petals.
Paint cardstock with chalkboard paint.
Attach a strip of dictionary paper overlapping the chalkboard painted section of the cardstock. Add some colors with Gelatos colors from the Paper Flowers Kit and blend dry with foam wedge.
Add stamping, photo, title and journaling (both written with PITT Artist Pen in Black) to finish.
Here's a close-up of my layout.

Such wonderful design elements in your LO, Mou! Love how the deeper muted colors of those fabulous flowers enhance the colors of the bricks in the photo without overwhelming it. Great use of the chalkboard paint and the dictionary page!!

(having trouble with your page Mou, a large popup obscures the page and 'close' won't get rid of it)

I love those challenges and my Gelatos. So together I made a Spring tag with fabric handmade colored with Gelatos flowers and I also made hand made mist with greens and colored smaller paper hand made flowers. The stamped panel is all covered with Gelatos mix. Hope you like it

Not sure if my project will qualify for the challenge or not, but I was inspired by the post a few days ago by Laura Bray about stamping with vegetables and went a little wild making a floral background with some lettuce!! :) I understand if this doesn't work for your challenge. Here's my link: http://herpeacefulgarden.blogspot.com/2016/03/lettuce-have-some-fun.html
Thank you for your wonderful challenges. They are so much fun!!
