Hi Artsy Friends! Jen here to share a mini album I made with Metallic Gelatos® colors and our new Cement Texture Paste and Asphalt Texture Paste. These mediums are so fun to use and create amazing texture to you projects! Here are some of my pages and a few tips to share about them.
I love that I can create fun areas of texture using these mediums through stencils or by just smearing some of it on with a palette knife. I did just that with the Cement Texture Paste to a journal board. I let it dry and then rubbed some of the Metallic Gelatos® colors over the dried paste.
For this page, I cut letters using my die cutter and adhered them with a removable adhesive. I used Gelatos® colors in Silver Ice and Gold Champagne over the letters, smearing with my fingers. Then I mixed some Silver Ice Gelatos® color to Gel Medium and smoothed it over the letters.
Once dry, I carefully peeled the letters of the board and allowed the map paper to show through! The Gel Medium allows the layers underneath to be seen. It can be built up to be more opaque.
For the title page, I added Asphalt Texture Paste through a stencil to create this industrial look. Once dry the medium is very durable.
I used the remaining Silver Gel Medium mixture through the waste of the letter cut outs for "City". The Cement Texture Paste was added beneath that and I colored letter stamps with Gold Champagne and stamped into the semi-wet Cement. Finally some watered down Copper Texture Luxe was dripped down the top of this page.
This mini book was inspired by the City Brights Kit and features our new Texture Pastes. I love the industrial feel that these mediums have and how well the Gelatos work with them!
I hope my urban inspired art has given you some new ideas on how to use our fun new pastes!
