Merry Christmas~!! I am honored to be here today to share my Christmas tag with you. Hope you are enjoying your time with family and friends! I choose the JOY sentiment because it is the wish I like to extend to all of you during this holiday season :)
To start, we will color the tag die cut with a combination of Design Memory Craft® Gelatos® in Boysenberry, Snow Cone and Metallic Blueberry colors one side of the embossing folder. Mist two or three times to wet the colored surface. Place the tag on top, close the folder and emboss through the machine.
I embossed twice. After the first tag was embossed with color, there were colors still left so I did another tag. Don't waste - LOL! I will use the lighter one for another project. For the tag I will be using I layered more color for a deeper color.
Next I cut the JOY sentiment with thin chipboard and trimmed to use only the word.
I covered JOY with Gesso. After it dried, I colored with Design Memory Craft® Gelatos® in Silver Ice and coated it with Glass Bead Glitter Gel. It will go on white but will dry clear - it's a beautiful effect!
While the gel was drying, I outlined the sentiment with Journaling PITT® Artist Pen in Silver. The pen is made from odorless India ink that won't bleed through and it is waterproof, light-fast and archival plus it matches with other colors in other mediums!
I used my Layered Poinsettia set to make one big bloom. I colored with Design Memory Craft® Gelatos® in Bubble Gum and Passion Fruit colors. I used two colors to create dimension and shading with the help of the mister. I colored directly with the Bubble Gum Gelatos® to highlight the petal's embossed designs.
The leaf was covered with Texture Luxe™ Pearl that was tinted with Design Memory Craft® Gelatos® Double Scoop® in Green Tea. It brings shimmer to the color. I also colored direct with the Green Tea Gelatos® to highlight the embossing.
Assemble by layering the blossom die cuts. Adhere each layer with small glue rounds. Leaves were adhered at the bottom. I added Texture Gems™ Gold in the center of the flower and Glass Bead Glitter Gel to the petals. Set aside.
I colored the snowflake die cut with Design Memory Craft® Silver Ice Gelatos®. There about two coats on the die cut.
Then apply Glass Bead Glitter Gel onto the die cut - this will match the JOY sentiment and tie it all in. Set aside to dry.
Now to assemble the tag! First I covered the back of the JOY die cut with Gel Medium and using it as an adhesive. This medium is versatile! It is a semi-gloss translucent medium that is ideal for extending color, adding sheen, adhering collage pieces and creating great texture and dimension as it holds it form while drying. Do the same and adhere with the snowflake and poinsettia/leaves die cuts.
Add the finishing touches with all the embellishments and ribbons to create this layered holiday tag. Here's another look...
