Hello crafters...Penny here today and with the holidays coming to a close I had to sneak in here with a New Years card. Several Gelatos® and some Texture Luxe™ were used to make this card full of raised goodness. And when you make a big booboo by tearing the corner, you then distress the card so it looks intentional. :)
On Watercolor paper cut to 4 x 5.50 inches, scribble on Gelatos® from the Steampunk collection...Iced Coffee, Black Cherry Iced Chai & Cinnamon. Mist with water and blend with finger until you are happy with results.
Edge the card front with Gelatos® Iced Coffee and smudge towards card center with finger.
Stamp sentiment and clock face with VersaFine Vintage Sepia ink.
Emboss this panel with Provo Craft Clockworks folder.
Distress edges with distressing tool. As you can see I tore the top right corner. :( For the fix, I just added more of the Iced Coffee Gelatos®, and adhere the corner back to the card front.
To make the "Keys" embellishment - Mix a small amount of Texture Luxe™ Gold with a tad of Black Cherry Gelatos®. Using a palette knife, apply to a scrap of White card stock. Let dry. Swipe a small area of the card stock with just Texture Luxe™ Gold to give you a variation in embellishments.
Die cut Die-Versions Vintage Keys three times.
Adhere distressed card front to Burgundy card stock trimmed 4.25 x 5.50 inches. Wrap with Sheer Gold ribbon, add brad with "Keys" embellishment underneath. Adhere this panel to a card base of White card stock cut to 4.25 x 11 inches, folded in half.

New Years cards are a great idea!! I've been sick since beginning of November so I wasn't able to make many holiday cards or other things this year. I still wanted to send out cards & this is perfect!! Thanks for the idea!! Happy New Year!

You sure mad the best out of that torn corner. It enhanced the vintage look to the card. Love it!

Nope, would have never known about the boo-boo if you hadn't told us. Distressing on cards does serve a purpose, doesn't it? Nice touch using the clock as a significant part of a New Year's card.
