Hello, crafty folks. It´s Denisa here. My first project for Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® is an art journal spread in a bit of vintage mood and a great deal of mixed media featuring the awesome Stamper´s Big Brush Pens.
I love art journaling since there are no rules and limits. Whatever you do is totally up to your choice and the result is pretty unpredictable. One doesn´t have to plan things, they just happen as you go and it´s all about your imagination and freedom.
This time I decided to use a canvas sheet glued down (using Gel Medium) on the paper. I love its texture. I usually leave the edges ripped. First I applied a random layer of white Gesso with a pallette knife. I used my heat gun to dry the surface.
Next I created some texture by applying Whipped Spackle over the stencil and dried it.
Then I added some colour. I used sprays in turquoise, tea and brown tones.
I dried it again and started stamping. I used wonderful Stamper´s Big Brush Pen in black. I´m a big fan of random stamping when you stamp just a desired part of the stamp. This effect is hard to achieve when using ordinary ink pads.
When working with Stamper´s Big Brush Pens you can easily colour just the part you need. Moreover, they´re waterproof, archival and the tip is like a paintbrush allowing you to draw various lines. They use India ink which is very intense and never fading.
Then I added a bit of gold Texture Luxe™. It´s so super shiny. Love it.
Next I glued down the leaf using Gel Medium. I stuck the three vintage ladies on the leaf using 3D foam stickers. I painted golden dots around their heads using gold Texture Gems ™ and let it dry. I added a black thread, black and white semi circles and chevron washi tape to achieve some needed colour contrast.
I outlined the edges using PITT® Artist Pens in black. Since I love to make up stories for the vintage characters I use in my art journals, I added the quote saying: They never needed any permission to design their own lives withou men.
Next I used Mettalic Gelatos to do the shading here and there. The final touch was attaching the wire and the star to the canvas. Voila! Here it is.

I hope you find my project inspiring. Wishing you all happy creating using Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® products.

A few words about me. I´m a mixed media artist from the Czech Republic. I love art journalling, creating LO´s, ATC´s and altering objects. Keeping my hands dirty from paints makes my soul happy. My motto: A day without creating is no good :). I´m so thrilled to share my projects here with you. Let´s have fun!
