MOM Scrapbook Page Using Texture Cards

This weekend is Mother's Day and I am far away from mine. So I took a picture of my mom and me from our last visit together and made a scrapbook page.

I wanted to try the new Texture Cards set to create my background. So I grabbed my Whipped Spackle and cardstock to make a sample board on each Texture Card. This is how it came out... Hard to choose, right? LOL! But I ended up using Texture Card #8.

Now that I have my background decided, I picked out my layers and distressed the edges.

The Strawberry Gelatos® color from the new Design Memory Craft® Gelatos® - Macarons Set matched my colors perfectly. So I colored my Whipped Spackle with it and a little bit of water to blend easier.

 

Then I spread the Strawberry colored spackle to different areas (photo mat and background paper) and textured the areas with the Texture Card #8.

 

As that dried, I continued to use Design Memory Craft® Gelatos® - Macarons Set in Strawberry Gelatos® and Fig Gelatos® to color the white flowers, using the Art GRIP® Aquarelle Watercolor Pencils - #139 to highlight the flower petals.

One way to embellish a sticker is to lightly cover the entire sticker by using Glass Bead Glitter Gel and let dry for a little sparkle.

I have a ton of alpha stickers so I spelled out "MOM" and used a couple of coats of Gesso and then a couple of coats of white acrylic paint to create a base coat. I colored with Design Memory Craft® Gelatos® - Macarons Set in Strawberry Gelatos® and then sealed it with Glass Bead Glitter Gel. Turned out FABULOUS!

 

After adding my sticker cluster on the upper left corner and a 3D Foam Butterfly (using the same treatment as MOM) and my other sticker cluster right by the picture, it's ready to be displayed...another look at the page.
