Hey there artsy peeps! Rita Barakat here with my latest apron. Did you know that you can use PITT® Artist Pens and Big Stampers Brush pens work on fabric? They are filled with India ink, which means they are odorless, waterproof, lightfast and archival. The images you make stay bright and vibrant for many years to come. I have even thrown aprons in the wash with detergent and they come out beautifully - no change in the colors! I love that! This apron was made especially for one of my blog readers! I hope she loves it!
Because of the delicate fabric I did choose to use a little Gesso under the face. You have to test your fabrics if you choose to use them - thicker fabrics work quite well and don't bleed, but this particular fabric did (looks like she had chapped lips! LOL). No need to panic though, a little Gesso adds a stiffness to the fabric and keeps the marks in place - especially important when doing faces.
Here is a close up! I love products that have multi-purposes don't you? What will you do with your PITT® Artist Pens?
Blessings!
Rita
