Hi crafty friends! It's Lisa here with you sharing a card that I think is really awesome! (Yes, I'm biased, of course.) I am over the moon with how it turned out. So fun creating the pieces and putting it all together. Let me show you how!
1. Using watercolor paper, a ruler, and a pencil; draw lines creating your pattern.
2. Erase the lines so barely visible. Go over the lines with the Texture Gems Liner in Gold. Allow to dry completely.
3. Rub Gelatos® in Cotton Candy, Metallic Mint, Acqua Dolce, and Margarita Mix over the dried Texture Gems area and a bit beyond. Blend well with fingers.
4. Place stencil from Stencil Pack 101 over paper and, using sponge, pounce the Texture Luxe in Gold over the area.
5. Trim the angled pieces that were created on the card front using a paper trimmer or scissors. (Using a paper trimmer will give a more precise cut.)
6. Intensify the color using a Stamper's Big Brush Pen in Cobalt Green #156. Since the Gelatos® have set into the paper the color from the Stamper's Big Brush Pen blends beautifully just using your finger. Adhere wedges to card front.
7. Place a strip of low tack tape onto your work surface and stick wood embellishments to the sticky side. With a thin paintbrush paint the embellishment with Texture Luxe in Pearl and allow to dry.
8. Adhere wood veneer pieces using favorite wet adhesive or Gel Medium (which is what I prefer).
9. On the excess piece of watercolor paper (that still has Gelato® color on it) stamp sentiment in pigment ink, sprinkle clear embossing powder on top and heat set.
10. Die cut around sentiment, place 2 layers of foam adhesive underneath, and wrap wire thread loosely underneath to form very loose circle.
11. Attach sentiment to card front. Draw lines between "wedges" using PITT Artist Pen in black #199. Also draw lines around edge of card using Stamper's Big Brush Pen in Cobalt Green #156 and PITT Artist Pen in Black #199 to finish the card. (I never get worried if my lines are straight or wonky, but if YOU do...use a ruler. I like the messy look, personally. ;) )
