Hi everyone, Mou here and welcome to the twelfth and final Take The Challenge of 2014!

If you are new to this blog, let me fill you in about Take the Challenge. Every month, on the first Monday, I'll post a challenge and my take on it. You'll have 12 days to take this on. Leave a comment to the challenge post with a link to your creation based on that challenge. We will pick TWO winners from among the readers who participated in that month's challenge. And the winners will get a prize from Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft®.

December is the season of gift giving. The challenge this month is to create any small handmade gift using your mixed media stash.  

Here's my take.

Here's a list of supplies I used:

• Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Textural accents: Gesso, Gel Medium, Glass Bead Glitter Gel, Whipped Spackle

• Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Gelatos® Colors: Steampunk set

• Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Big Brush pens: Black, Scarlet Red, Chrome Yellow

• Others: paintbrush, stamp, fabric, canvas, punchinella, palette knife

Here are the steps:

Use Gel Medium to attach tissue to canvas.

Cut a design from fabric and attach to canvas with gel medium.

Coat parts of the canvas with gesso.

With palette knife, apply Whipped Spackle through punchinella.

Color around the image with Gelatos colors.

Apply a coat of Glass Bead Glitter Gel all over the canvas. Let dry thoroughly.

Add colors around the butterfly or the image you chose with Stamper's Big Brush pens.

Embellish with stamp. Cut a label shape from fabric and write a favorite word on it to finish.
