Hi everyone! It's Lisa here with you today and I have a cool mixed media canvas to share with you that would be perfect as a gift for your neighbor, friend, or co-worker. I really hope that you like it. I took a LOT of photos, so let's get started!
1. This is a 8 x 10" pre-gessoed canvas that was turned on the long side. A piece of patterned paper was cut to size (the edges were torn just a little) and adhered to the canvas using Gel Medium.
2. After the Gel Medium dried, a coat of Gesso was applied on top to give the paper a white washed look. This should also be allowed to dry. (Or heat set if preferred.)
3. Apply stencil mask letters/phrase. (*Note - I used a T-ruler to assist with placer.)
4. Cover the canvas and letters with Gelatos® in the following colors for that holiday feel: Red Cherry, Champagne, Iced Chai (from the Steampunk Collection), Pistachio, and Green Tea.
5. Blend colors with fingers and then spritz lightly with water allowing colors to blend, drip, and mix.
6. Peel up letters once canvas is again dry. Using PITT Artist Pen in Pink Carmine 127 trace around edges of letters (and ornament).
7. Coat with light layer of Gel Medium. Right before completely dry sprinkle on gold glass glitter and brayer into the Gel Medium. Allow to dry completely.
8. In a small container mix Whipped Spackle with Glass Bead Glitter Gel. Use mixture and palette knife, lightly "scrape" over stencil of choice.
9. Embellish as you wish! I used a poinsettia die, some ribbons, and sequins. I think it turned out lovely.
I hope that you enjoyed seeing all these wonderful products being used and how easy they are to use together. This would be awesome with some drips of melted Paper Crafter Crayons™, too!
