Hi everyone, Mou here and welcome to the eleventh Take The Challenge of 2014!
If you are new to this blog, let me fill you in about Take the Challenge. Every month, on the first Monday, I'll post a challenge and my take on it. You'll have 12 days to take this on. Leave a comment to the challenge post with a link to your creation based on that challenge. We will pick TWO winners from among the readers who participated in that month's challenge. And the winners will get a prize from Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft®.
November is here. I have Thanksgiving on my mind. Every year, I make a list of the things I'm thankful for about each person in my family. While we don't do elaborate Thanksgiving meals, we enjoy the week off together. I like to give everyone my list in the form of some small handmade gift. This month, your challenge is to do the same. Create any small gift for a person you are thankful for.
Here's my take:
Here's a list of supplies I used:
-
Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Textural accents: Gesso
-
Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Gelatos® Colors: Mango (Yellow set), Red Cherry (Red set), Green Tea, Pistachio (Green set), Blueberry (Blue set), Iced Coffee (Steampunk set), Metallic Mint (Metallic set)
-
Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Big Brush pens: Black, Scarlet Red
-
Others: adhesive, cardstock, diecutting system, paintbrush, stamp, twine
Here are the steps:
Apply a coat of gesso to the pillow box diecut.
Rub Mango, Green Tea, pistachio and Metallic Mint Gelatos colors to the pillow box. Blend with wet brush.
On a label diecut, stamp sentiment using Black Stamper's Big Brush pen.
Draw a border to the diecut label with Scarlet Red Stamper's big Brush to make look like label stickers.
Make a list of the reasons you are thankful for some. Fold and place that note inside the box and shut the box closed with adhesive.
Cut off a small bit of Blueberry Gelato color with palette knife from the Gelatos Mist Maker set and crush it down. Put the Gelato in the Drip Dropper filled halfway with water. Shake to mix. Drip on pillow box as shown.
Color embossed diecut leaf with Mango, Red Cherry, and Iced Coffee Gelatos colors.
Tie twine to the pillow box.
Tuck in leaf and label under the twine.
Don't forget to share your challenge creations with us... just leave a comment to the challenge post with link to your project image(s) by Friday, 11/14 and we will pick TWO winners randomly to win these.
The prizes for this challenge are: One Gelatos Mist Maker set.
Don't forget to check back on Monday, 11/17 to see if YOU won!
Good luck to all!
Beautiful box, Mou.
I so much like this challenge, I guess, being Guest Designer, I wont be able to participate for a while.
