Hey there creatives! Rita Barakat here! Lets talk backgrounds shall we? Ombre backgrounds...with texture! And I know you already have the tools! OK go grab them: Gesso, a stencil, your favorite shades of the same color Gelatos®Colors (dark and light) and Whipped Spackle.
I started with a stencil and a little Whipped Spackle - you definitely want to let this dry completely before moving onto the next step.
I used Gesso next, you can use Gesso first then the Whipped Spackle, either way it still work.
Ombre is really easy to achieve with Gelatos®Colors, start with the darkest color on the top and the lighter color in the middle. Take a wet paint brush to blend your colors, keep your colors separated until you have both side covered, then take the wet paint brush to the middle to fade the dark into light. And what did I do with this lovely background when I finished?
A theater for ballerinas! Of course this Ombre background technique can work for any project, happy crafting!
