Happy 4th of July! It's Teresa here, and I have some cards to share with you today that I made using PITT® Pastel Pencils. Here they are:
I was really pleased with the 'fine art' finish to these stamped images. Believe me when I say this was easy to achieve - so easy it's almost cheating! These pencils are intensely pigmented, and look just fabulous on black cardstock. Here's how I achieved the look:
Step 1
Stamp the image using a light coloured pigment ink.
Step 2
Choose two or three colours, keeping in mind that when they are blended they will appear a little less intense. Colour parts of the image with the darkest pencil.
Step 3
Add some lighter colour. Streaks are appropriate for this image as the shell itself has striations on it.
Step 4
Using a blending stump, blend the colours. Depending on the image, lines or small circles may work best.
Step 5
When you've blended the image to your liking, add a few highlights with the white pencil and spray with a matt fixative. The fixative will stop the pastel pencil from rubbing off.
Thanks for stopping by, and I do hope you give the PITT® Pastel Pencils a go next time you need a softly shaded image.

Pastel Pencils are one of my most favorite products from Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft! I loved that you showcased them here - the cards are just stunning against the dark background!! Great idea about using a blending stump - I use my fingers but for a detailed blend, this is much better :) GREAT JOB!!
