Happy Tuesday Faber-Castell Peeps!! Karen here today and I have so enjoyed being a guest designer here at Faber-Castell Design, Memory, Craft!! I can't believe this is my last post!! I hope you enjoy my little window and it gives you a big smile!
I started with a simple canvas. I tore up some book paper to make a 'window' frame, glued it down with gel medium and whitewashed it (white paint +water) to calm down the typeface on the paper!
I cut out some scrapbook paper for the window panes, pots and green plants. I glued all of these pieces down with gel medium too!
I knew though, this piece needed some pop!! So I took my Watermelon Gelato and mixed it with Whipped Spackle to make an amazing flower for the canvas. It is super easy to do this, first slice off a couple of pieces of gelato. Chop and smash the gelato onto a craft mat. Then take out a scoop of whipped spackle and mix it together. You will have to smash it a couple more times, to make there are no pieces of gelato left. Luckily, you can smash it a bunch of times and not change the consistency of the spackle! I just love that the texture doesn't change!!
Then be brave, put your stencil down and fill it in with the gelato-spackle mix!!
Once you take the stencil off, you will have an amazing textured flower!! I just love how the color and texture pops off the canvas and gives those plants sitting on the windowsill a happy friend!!
Doodles and Highlights with Pitt pens to finish off ...
Thank you all so much for stopping by the Faber-Castell Design, Memory, Craft blog!! I have been so honored to guest design here. I hope you will come visit me! I can't wait to see you all in the future!! - Karen

I did some doodling, inspired by an article that Mou wrote a couple of years ago. It reminded me of Morocco, where my daughter met Aladdin and Jasmine at Epcot, so I used the doodling for a scrapbook page. I used the Pitt artist pens and the Faber-Castell watercolor pencils (with a water brush). Coated the doodling with some clear glaze to make it pop.
