Hello, Olga Siedlecka here. I hope that Spring makes you happy. As I already mentioned I’m really addicted to art journaling and in my last post I started to work with a great mixed media journal from Faber-Castell. With the second attempt I came to the grips with the rest of eight mentioned techniques: layering, misting, stamping and doodling.
1. I started with arranging the background with lace, vintage paper and washi tapes. Then I covered the whole with a coat of Gesso using a palette knife which offers a dimensional effect.
2. I added a little bit of vibrant colours and spots by sprinkling the background with mists prepared from watered Gelatos and let the whole dry. Metallic ones work the best.
3. I added some elements which I didn’t want to be covered with mists. Then I started stamping using PITT® Artist Pens with big brushes which are waterproof and perfectly matched to color sets.
4. Finally, I doodled a little bit on the whole using black PITT® Artist Pens with various nibs. The surface didn’t soak and held everything in place with flying colours.
If you haven’t tried art journaling yet but want to have a try with the Faber-Castell mixed media journal I bet you will fall in love with it for years to come.
I hope you feel a bit inspired. Have a nice day!
