Hello, Olga Siedlecka here. Today I would like to inspire you with a whimsical birdy portrait as Spring is nigh. The idea of copying outlines blew my mind during painting with my daughter in her coloring book. I came across this cute bird and I thought that it would look quite nice on a canvas panel. Versatile Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® media made the process easy peasy.
Find an interesting page in a coloring book which has appropriate size to use with a canvas panel. Apply a thick coat of Whipped Spackle on the panel using a palette knife which gives a textural effect and a great tooth for other media to follow. Let it dry.
Copy a whole coloring page or only a part of it on the panel. You may also use a sheet of tracing paper to make the process easier. Enhence the outlines with PITT® Artist Pens. As they are waterproof lines will not smudge when time for watered Gelatos® comes.
Cover the picture with Gelatos® using a bit of water.
Sprinkle the picture with mists prepared from Gelatos® using a stipple brush. Add some Gesso using a dot dabber and then apply some Glaze to accent chosen areas. You may also transform your canvas into hanger.
I hope you feel a bit inspired. Have a nice day!
Supplies:
PITT® Artist Pens 199
Gelatos® Colors Snow Cone, Acqua Dolce, Watermelon, Banana
Whipped Spackle, Gesso
