I hope your Christmas was wonderful! It's not long now and we'll be ringing in a new year. I thought this cute telephone stamp would be a funny way to ring it in on a mini canvas.
I stamped the telephone onto a thick white cardstock and cut it out the old fashioned way...with scissors. I even used a craft blade to get into the tiny places, like between the phone and the receiver. Crazy! LOL! I painted the phone using the May Green 170 Big Brush pen. I drew directly on my craft mat with the pen and then added water to make a paint.
I covered my canvas with Gesso and let it dry. I then painted it using the wet Snow Cone Gelato. I drew onto my craft mat with the Gelato and added water to make it a paint. I also rubbed some directly to the canvas and spread it a little with my fingers. Next, I covered the whole canvas with Glaze. While the Glaze was wet, I added some light green and silver glitter.
I finally used these metal stamps that I've had for years! I bought them to stamp on metal but I never could do it right. I'm glad I kept them because they helped me make this fun message. I just stuck them in ink and stamped. If you do this make sure you have scratch paper so you can determine which way you've got the letters facing. That's what the letters at the top are for, they're in my test area.
I painted and smudged blue, yellow and pink Gelatos onto my lettering to give it some fun color. I used a 3d foam dot to adhere the telephone to the canvas, some double sided tape to stick down the lettering and Zip Dry paper glue to add the bling.
Have a fun time ringing in your New Year!
