Thankful Card

Thankful1

Hi everyone!

It's Stephanie here and today I have a card to share that features the Stamper's Big Brush pens and a couple of Gelato® colours. I wanted to create a card with fall colours for Thanksgiving (we already celebrated Thanksgiving in Canada) and knew the big brush pens had the perfect colour combination. And since I wanted to use a flower/stem stamp, I knew they would perfect since they give such awesome coverage when used directly on stamps.

So you can follow along my photo tutorial to see how I created my Thankful card.

To create a card with a similar design to this, pick out a stamp that has some flowers, leaves and stems and colour different areas with the Stamper's Big Brush pens. I let colours overlap so I would get a nice blended design. And since they stay wet longer, you have lot's of time to get the entire stamp covered with colour.

Once you have the entire stamp covered, you can stamp it directly on the paper of your choosing. I went with a text patterned paper because I love how the colours look and it gives a warm, vintage feel. See how awesome that colour looks once stamped? I love it! ;)

Once I had it stamped, I decided that I wanted to add a little aqua colour to the background paper, so I mixed some Acqua Dolce and Snow Cone Gelatos in a bowl with water to make a colour wash.

I then painted it directly on the paper from side to side (I painted right over the stamped area) until I had the whole piece covered.

Once that dried, I coloured over a Thankful sentiment stamp with the black big brush marker and stamped the sentiment directly on the stamped piece, right over the bottem area of the flowers.

I love using the big brush markers in this way. There are so many great colours available and they look so awesome stamped. The colour is vibrant and sharp and gives you way more options for custom colours on stamps.

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today!
