Paper Crafters Crayon Veteran's Day Card

As we see many Halloween and Christmas projects, I thought I would share a card I created for Veteran's Day. It is celebrated in the U.S. soon (Nov. 11th)! This card to thank those brave men and women, and their families for the sacrifices that makes this Country so wonderful - THANK YOU!!!

To create my background, I took patterned paper and colored with my Paper Crafter Red Crayon™. Next I ironed it and spread the color evenly.

I cut/embossed S5-131 A-2 Matting Basics A and S5-132 A-2 Matting Basics B with white cardstock (Basics A) and the colored patterned paper (Basics B). On the colored patterned paper, I created my stripes with molding paste and 4x4 Mini Lines Stencil, using the Palette Knife from our Gelatos Tool Set. When dried, I brighten the stripes with Gesso Texture Accent and Stipple Brush from our Gelatos Tool Set.

To create the accent on top of the stripes, I cut/embossed Vintage Label & Banner Dies/Flag Element die and used Design Memory Craft Boysenberry Gelatos® to color the edges. To soften the coloring, I used Water Brush from the Essential Tools Set to blend. Bend the die cut for dimension and placed a star brad in the center.

I added interest to frame my sentiment by cut/embossing Banner {die}tails Nested Die Set Die #3 (smallest die being #1) right into the card panel. To determine placement of sentiment, I lined up the colored patterned paper to the white die cut and stamped "Thank You" with Deep Scarlet Red #118 from Stamper's Big Brush 3 ct. RED set.

Embellish the card panel as shown...I colored the inside edges of the ribbon tail with Design Memory Craft Red Cherry Gelatos for a finished look. The card panel was adhered using 3D Foam Squares to create dimension.
