I've had the best time creating this BOO Ribbon Wall Hanging with Faber Castell Design Memory Craft products and May Arts ribbon!
First, I covered three 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" canvases with Gesso and let them dry.
I covered each canvas with a Squid Ink Gelato™ by drawing with them directly on the canvas and then blending it out using a wet sponge paintbrush.
I decoupaged on some spooky paper by covering the top of the canvas with Gel Medium, adding my paper and then covering that with more Gel Medium.
I drew directly on wood letters using the Squid Ink and Blood Orange Gelatos and rubbed them in with my fingers. Next, I edged the sides of the wooden letters with a Stamper’s Big Brush Pen in black. For shine and to seal the color, I used my finger to paint over the completed letter with Glaze.
This previously white pearl ribbon was given a grey wash using the Squid Ink Gelato™ and water. I also did the same thing to the white flower ribbon you saw earlier. I added a cork back to the letters for added dimension. Using a hot glue gun, I attached the ribbon to the edges of the frame.
I glued the flowers, extra pearl ribbon and the frames directly to the wire burlap ribbon using my hot glue gun.
To create a way for this to hang, I simply folded some of the burlap ribbon over at the top and glued it down. I added a piece of a bamboo skewer to the inside of the folded area to give it stability when it hangs.
I pulled some of the burlap threads out so the end of the ribbon would be fringed. The silk and burlap ribbons tied at the top are also by May Arts. I'm totally in love with their ribbon!
I hope you enjoyed this project! I had a blast making it and am enjoying having this hanging in my house!
