Hi, AJ here with my first guest designer post for Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft®.
I had such a hard time deciding which of the many awesome products to start with, so I went with the Gelatos®, and my favorite way to use them!
For my card today, I have watercolored the flowers with the Lime, Tangerine, Watermelon, & Lemon Gelatos.
I chose Just Rite™ Secret Garden Cling background to work with because of the flowers in it. I heat embossed it with white pigment ink and embossing powder first.
I am not a great colorer, I often avoid images that need coloring. But since working with the Gelatos, I have decided they are one of my go-to choices for coloring now! To start, I just smear Lime onto my work mat. I have a damp brush and I lift the color from the smear and lay it down on to the leaves.
Working with just the images I want lime, I continue to color them in, adding color layer by layer, often re inking up my brush. What I love is you can water the color down, or add to it, creating the perfect shade.
Next, I am moving onto the images I want in Lemon. I start by wiping my project with a baby wipe to remove the excess lime color from where it's been embossed.
Moving onto the Tangerine color, I have wiped the excess Lemon color away, and have my Tangerine ready to use.
I want to halo around the yellow in my flowers, so I add heavy amounts of color just around the outside of the yellow, and then work it outwards towards.
After I have colored my Tangerine centers in, I am now adding Watermelon the flowers. This time, I start on the outside of the flower petals, and work back towards the orange.
I continue adding color until I am happy with how it looks. I then go over the Lemon flower centers, and lightly move the color outward, but leaving them mostly white.
To finsish off my card, I adhere the image to a yellow card base, and stamp the sentiment using the Stampers Big Bush Pen, and attaching it to the card with 3D Foam Squares.
I love just how VIBRANT the Gelato colors are!
thanks for stopping by!!
