Hi everyone, Mou here and welcome to the fifth 'Take the Challenge' of 2013!
I feel that creative challenges help us experiment and learn new things. Challenges can help us get unstuck from creative ruts. They can also inspire us to create in ways we would not have thought of otherwise. So, I decided to take a few creative challenges myself and thought you might like to play along.
Every month, on the first Monday, I'll post a challenge and my take on it. You'll have 12 days to take this on. Leave a comment to the challenge post with a link to your creation based on that challenge. The following Monday, we will pick TWO winners randomly from among the readers who participated in that week's challenge. And the winners will get a Gelato Gift Set prize from Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft®.
April showers bring May flowers. Whether you have acres to garden or a small window sill, plenty of time to garden or none at all, whether you are a pro gardener or someone like me who struggles to keep even small potted plants alive, May is the time for blooms and gardens.
Today's challenge is about making something inspired by gardens.
I'm inspired by the colors of a garden as well as the shapes of petals and leaves and here's what I created--a card made with some of my favorite Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft products.
I colored watercolor paper with Gelatos® (MANGO, BANANA, WATERMELON, AQUA DOLCE, LIME, & PISTACHIO).
When dry, I doodled a flower with Essential PITT Artist Pens BLACK.
And filled in parts of the flower with Art GRIP® Aquarelle Watercolor Pencils (111, 115, 119, and 166)
Don't forget to share your challenge creations with us... just leave a comment to the challenge post at the Design Memory Craft blog with link to your project image(s) by Friday, 5/17 and we will pick TWO winners randomly to win these.
The prizes for this challenge are: TWO sets of Art GRIP® Aquarelle Watercolor Pencils in the colors of your choice.
Don't forget to check back on Monday, 5/20 to see if YOU won!

You are such an amazing doodler - wow! I wish I could draw like that!
Now I want to pull out my gelatoes ( I'm usually quick to grab my Big Brush Markers) and play.

Finally spring here in Finland, too! I can't wait to see the garden at our summer cottage, where the daffodils and tulips might be in bloom at last. Meanwhile, I always love a garden challenge, and here's my art journal spread for this one!

My daughter and granddaughters gave me a pot of beautiful hydrangeas for mothers day, and I decided to send my flowers through the mail in the form of mothers day cards. Here is my entry for this challenge:

My biggest challenge is using some of my stash, which I tend to hoard. So, I jumped in and used a collection by Graphic 45 to make this garden themed card: https://www.flickr.com/photos/33235863@N08/26763858362/in/dateposted-public/
