St. Patrick's Day Inspiration Spool

Luckycharm

Good morning! Katie here.

Saint Patrick’s Day is next week, so for today’s project I wanted to make something inspired by the holiday. I love recycling spools into mini books; you can add photos or just make little inspiration spools with quotes. Which is what I did for this spool, I found an Irish Proverb that I liked:

"May your blessings outnumber the shamrocks that grow, and may trouble avoid you wherever you go."

Cut a piece of fabric the width of the inside of your spool.

Color your fabric with gelatos, stamper’s big brush pen and aquarelles. I used green and gold to go with the St. Patrick’s Day theme.

With your PITT pens, write out your quote on your fabric.

Attach one end of your fabric to your spool using glue, and attach a piece of twine to the other end. To close up your quote spool, wrap the fabric around your spool until you get to the twine then wrap the twine around your fabric to secure it.

I also used jewelry wire to attach charms and buttons to my spool.

Supplies:

Gelatos: Metallic Mint, Gold

Stampers Big Brush Pen: May Green

Aquarelles: #250, 168, 105, 111

PITT Pens: S, M, B

Vintage Spool, Muslin Fabric, Jewelry Wire, Charms

Katie, never got to tell you how much I liked this wooden spool idea. I don't think I have seen anything like it. I love how you colored the canvas and put the Irish Proverb on it. Love love the charms as well. Thanks for sharing.
