Hi All, Kim Dellow here with my last make as a guest designer for Faber-Castell Design Memory
Craft®. It has been great fun sharing with you guys here on the Design
Memory Craft® blog so thank you for having me along and for all your
lovely comments.
My make today is a homely Holiday Season inspired altered mini-canvas measuring 10 cm by 10 cm.
I started adding colour to the canvas surface and edges with the Stamper’s Big Brush Pen Light Flesh 132 directly on the canvas, then quickly blended with some Cut N’ Dry foam to soften the look.
I kept adding the colour until I was happy with the look then I glued on a couple of torn pieces of old book pages. When the pages were dried I added a bit more colour this time with the Stamper’s Big Brush Pen Cobalt Turquoise 153.
I then added a bit of texture using the Acrylic paint and PVA Crackle Technique and once the crackle layer was dry I added a touch more colour with the Stamper’s Big Brush Cobalt Turquoise 153 and Light Flesh 132 pens.
The next stage is to add a little bit of stamping to the corners. The stamp from the Mix & Match Gelatos® Color & Clear Stamp Blue set is perfect as you can ink it directly with the Stamper’s Big Brush Pen Cobalt Turquoise 153 and then curve the stamp around the edge of the canvas if you don’t put it on a stamping block to stamp.
To make the focal point of the canvas I cut out a heart shape and used the Ivory 103 Stamper’s Big Brush Pen on the Cut N’ Dry foam to add colour to the edges and then ran the PITT® Artist Pen with Brush Nib Light Flesh 132 along the edges. I lightly curved the heart before sticking it to the canvas with Golden Heavy Gel Medium.
The little houses were made from old book page collaged onto card and cut out. Before colouring with the Stamper’s Big Brush Pen Light Flesh 132 and PITT® Artist Pen with Brush Nib Light Flesh 132 I covered the shapes with the Stamper’s Big White Pen 101.
Finally the ‘Home’ sentiment was cut using Tim Holtz Alphabetical dies from card that I had first stamped in Stamper’s Big Brush Pen Cobalt Turquoise 153 then covered with the pen to make the patterned card.
There you have it, a little piece of home for the holidays!
Thanks for popping by.
Kim

I love the way you have used the pens to "ink" the stamp! :)
