Making homemade Christmas decorations at Christmas is SO much fun and what can be better than going green and using Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft products?
Here is how you can make some colourful and whimsical stuffie ornaments.
Take an old pair of jeans that no one wears anymore, and cut up the seams of the legs in order to open up the fabric.
Then cut out heart shapes. If you aren’t good at doing this free hand, you might want to draw a heart on a piece of card board first. Cut out your card board heart and use it as a pattern to trace the hearts onto your denim. You will need two hearts for every stuffie.
I then had an awesome time adding color to my decorations. First I started by using Gelatos®. Because my demin was dark , the brighter the color I used, the more it ‘popped’ against the darker background.
I then used Faber-Castell’s Stamper's Big Brush Pens in opposite colors as a way to shadow and create more ‘whimsy’. The actual pen that I used on the lettering was the Stamper's Big Brush Pen: CHROME YELLOW (#770004).
Using Faber-Castell’s PITT® Artist Pens 4ct: NEUTRAL (#770078), I further layered up on the color that I created by using the Stamp’s Big Brush Pen in Chrome Yellow. It is really neat how the colors go together so nicely and they complement each other so wonderfully!
Next…. I put my ornaments together by pinning them together. Good side SHOWING, with lace in them if you want, and I just put a little bit of stuffing inside of them to give them a little bit of dimension.
Then you stitch them up. I have ornaments with lace, some without lace. I have some with glitter and some with some extra bling. You really can do anything.
I loved making these quick decorations. Actually, they are kiddo friendly too! My daughters had fun helping me make some more to give to teachers for Christmas gifts this year. A great use for old jeans and a wonderful way to get colorful with Faber-Castell!
Have a WONDERFUL & Colorful Day!
