Art Journaling with Design Memory Craft (Guest Design Team)

 

Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft products are fabulous for most any project and work well to create colorful art journals with minimal effort. Cheryl Boglioli here again, excited to share with you a recent page I made just playing with some new stamps and a few stencils.

I have a homemade art journal I created by cutting 140# watercolor paper and binding with my Bind-it-All. I misted the watercolor paper with a bit of water and scribbled Gelatos™ colors in Cotton Candy and Butter Cream. Using a wet paintbrush, I blended the colors across the pages.

I started playing with Dylusions and Balzer Designs Creative Workshop stencils with various Design Memory Craft Faber-Castell products. I used more Gelatos™ colors in Tangerine, Coconut, Earl Gray, and a touch of Metallic Blueberry. The metallic added a nice touch that really pops on paper. Of course I love using Stamper’s Big Brush Pens in Black, Orange Glaze and Light Cobalt Turqouis. I also used PITT Artist Pens in Indanthrene Blue, Cobalt Green, Leaf Green, Cold Grey III, and Orange Glaze. I love that these pens come in different sized nibs; I used the Small and Brush nib for this project.

I stenciled, stamped, doodled and colored with all of these supplies creating layers of color and images. I used my fingers as well as a damp paintbrush to blend colors as I was layering and even flipped my stencils a few times to stamp a reversed image in places. There is something so freeing about playing in my art journals.
