Creating an Art Journal Background

Art journal

Hi everyone, Mou Saha here.  Here’s a tutorial on creating an art journal background.

So, let’s get started.  I used an old book here.

Mou step1

Apply a coat of white Gesso. Let dry.

Mou step2

Add colors with Gelatos®.

Mou step3

Blend the colors with a baby wipe
 Mou step4

Layer a stencil and apply more color with Gelatos®  and blend with wipe.

Mou step5

Ink a stamp with a Stamper's Big Brush Pen and stamp a border along the right edge.

Mou step6

Since I plan on writing and adding images to this spread, I’ll leave the background as is at this point so it doesn’t interfere with my art journaling.

Hope you enjoyed the tutorial and will give this a try.

LOVE IT. I'm going to try it. I need more of the big brush markers...

Thank you so much. I am planning to purchase the Gelatos during my NSD retreat. Thanks for showing me how to use them on an art journal.

Wow, this is beautiful and much easier than I would have thought. Thanks for giving me more ways to use my gelatos, which I ADORE!

Thanks for sharing! This is a great idea and one that I will use often!

Hello, where did you get the rubber stamp in the first photo?

Thanks
