Hello, Daniela Dobson here with my last post as a Guest Designer. This was such a wonderful opportunity to design with a fabulous company and products!
I have been admiring the glittery reindeer silhouettes lately and wanted to create one for myself. If you remember my first canvas, that I created not that long ago. That one is looking a little lonely on my mantel and it needs a friend.
Today, I have a challenge for you. I feel that creative challenges help us experiment and learn new things. Challenges can help us get unstuck from creative ruts. They can also inspire us to create in ways we would not have thought of otherwise. So, I decided to take a few creative challenges myself and thought you might like to play along. Every month, on the first Monday, I'll post a challenge and my take on it. You'll have 12 days to take this on. Leave a comment to the challenge post with a link to your creation based on that challenge. The following Monday, we will pick TWO winners randomly from among the readers who participated in that week's challenge. And the winners will get a prize from Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft®.
Today's challenge is themed: Christmas Greetings!
Hard to believe that 2012 is already coming to an end and it's time for the Holidays! And Holidays means gifts, greetings, and more... So, here's my Christmas greeting for you all!
Hi there! It´s Katarina here again, and today I´m going to share with you a cute little altered project I did last night.
This is such an easy project to do, the birdhouse made of veneer, I found at a local flowershop, and all I did was to decoreate it and bling it up a bit.
As a first step I wanted to give the house a nice structure, so I added some Gesso from the Textural Accents sampler pack, and after that I used my Pitt Artist Pen® Big Brush Warm Grey V274, (from the Mix & Match, Mixed Media sampler- Neutral) my inking tool, and a template to make a nice touch to the birdhouse surface.
Hi everyone! My name is Darlene and I am so excited to be sharing my first guest design team project with you!! I challenged myself to make a single card using only the colors in the Mixed Media Sampler Pack. For this card, I used the Red set.
Hi everyone, this is Erin here writing my last guest design team post! I'm really going to miss it!! Today I'm sharing with you this coffee sleeve I altered.
To create this coffee cozy, I took a piece of Sticky-Back-Canvas and traced a Starbuck's coffee sleeve onto the canvas' disposable liner. I then cut out the canvas and then painted gesso over the canvas side and allowed it to dry.
This is day one of my special two day post and I am so excited about it!! I figured that since I had the chance to spend a little extra time here this weekend I might as well do a video post, rather than my usual boring ol’ pictures, right? So here is Part 1 of my tutorial – it’s all about Project Life and a bit of mixed media play using the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Mixed Media Samplers!!
Well, that’s all for today! Be sure to pop back over tomorrow for part 2! Oh, and be sure to stop by my blog, where I am having a giveaway with some super yummy mixed media goodies! You might even see some Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft schtuff in there!!
Brittny Kvilhaug I’m a wife to Eric, the proud mommy of a four-legged mouse-killer, an emotional baker and sometimes I even call myself an artist. Sometimes… I’ve been working in the industry for about five years and have loved every minute! I’ve had the opportunity to wear several hats, including designer, teacher, sales rep, team member, and now mixed media artist – there’s that word again!!! There is nothing more exciting than breaking into a brand new of goodies and imagining all the fun stuff that’s going to come out of it! I am so happy to be a part of the guest design team for Faber-Castell and have had a blast playing along!
We had the pleasure of meeting Vicki and Jenny (Craft Test Dummies) at the summer CHA in Chicago. To say that we were wowed by their vibrant personalities is an understatement. Today's craft from Vicki is something we LOVE- it's always nice to remember that a little DIY can make someone's day.
Summertime. The time for vacation, reunions and other travel. If you are traveling this summer it may be that someone has played host and offered you a place to stay during your travels. The photo above was taken at the Summer CHA show last week where Jenny from Craft Test Dummies hosted her writers for the show.
While it's always a good idea to take a gift along with you as a "Thank You" it's also extra nice if you can send a note (hand written, please) letting your host know just how much you appreciated their hospitality.
MIX & MATCH from Faber-Castell makes designing with COLOR simple. Choose a color set that inspires you. Choose a medium. Mix & Match as you create. Color coordinated palettes give you the freedom to design your project knowing the colors & mediums will work beautifully together.
