Fall Themed Thank You Card

Fallish Watermarked

Hi Loves. Tiare here.  Fall is here and it is a great time to express gratitude.  Every year around this time, I begin to think about expressing and sharing gratitude with my family and friends.  During this time, I love to make cards that say, "Thank You," or just "Hello."  Pulling out the Gelatos® Orange Soda with a few others colors is perfect for creating cards with a "Fallish" feel. Here's what I did:

Fallish Thank You Card 1

Use Stamper’s Big Brush Pens:  Walnut Brown 177, Chrome Yellow to create your background.  Draw color onto craft sheet, spritz with water and drag card base through color.  Do this one color at a time.

Fallish 2

Use the Scandinavian Stencil Set to add leaves. Rub Gelatos® Orange Soda, Iced Coffee, Lemon over stencil to create leaves. Blend various colors to create a "Fallish," feel.

Fallish 3

Use a pop dot and add a circle sticker.  I used an angel sticker from the Tiare Smith Designs Angel Sticker set.  Tie a bit of twine in a bow under the sticker.

Fallish Watermarked

Lastly, add a handwritten sentiment.  Add dots, scribbles and accents using Texture Gems™ Gold

Red Cherry and I'm Thinking of You

Sept 5 Thinking of You Card

Hi All. Tiare here with a sweet card idea.  With so much stress in the world from natural disasters, to sadness, to loneliness, to just because, it is always a good idea to have a stash of "Thinking of You," cards.  I love having cards available to send when any occasion calls.

Here's how you too can make this cute card with a splash of the Color of the Week, Gelatos® Red Cherry.

Don't have a pre-made card base, no worries, just cut an 8.5"x11" piece of paper in half, straight down the middle.  Next fold in half and you'll have a 4.25"x5.5" card.  Perfect for an A2 envelope.

Sept 5 Thinking of You 1

Use the spatula to spread a bit of Glass Bead Glitter Gel on your card background. To add a touch of color, color on a piece of freezer paper using your Stamper's Big Brush Cadmium Yellow 107 and Scarlet Red 118, spritz with water and tap onto Glass Bead Glitter Gel and card background.

Sept 5 Thinking of You 2

Put aside to dry.  While drying use the Scandinavian Stencil Set to create a fun flower using Gelatos® Buttercream, Guava and Red Cherry. Use blending tool to the blend the colors as you go from one color to the other.  Do the same to create your leaves using Gelatos® Lime and Iced Pear. Cut out flowers and leaves.

Sept 5 Thinking of You 4

Adhere leaves to the back of the flower.

Sept 5 Thinking of You Card

Adhere black floss to the back of the flower, allowing it to peek from sides, to add interest.  Use pop dots to adhere flower and allow it to pop from the card. Use Stamper's Big Brush Black 101 to color onto sentiment stamp and then stamp onto a small piece of paper and add to card, as the finishing touch.

Tada.  So sweet and ready to send.

Stamping with Gelatos®

Faber-Castell Guava Gelatos + Aquarelle by Erin Bassett

You are awesome!

Sometimes you just need that reminder or want to share it with someone else so I made this little 4" x 6" piece of art that I could put in our guest room. I love how it turned out. It's almost magic how the highlighting of the flowers happens with this technique. Here's how I created the project.

I started off by using PITT® Artist Pen Black #199 as ink to stamp a flower image onto a 4" x 6" piece of watercolor paper.

Next,  I used Art GRIP® Aquarelle Watercolor Pencil #126 to color in the areas of the flowers that I wanted shaded.

Next,  I activated the watercolor with water.

While that dried, I mixed together about a 1/8" chunk of Guava Gelatos®, a Palette Knife full of Gel Medium, and a small spritz of water.

I then painted it onto the shadow stamp and stamped it onto my flower.

I really love the irregularity of the Gelatos® and how the watercolor pencils pop through.

Next, I stamped some leaves with May Green #170 PITT® Artist Pen and water colored them in with a Kiwi Gelatos®. I also used Art GRIP®Aquarelle Watercolor Pencil #147 and #153 to color in the blue background and then activated it with water.  Lastly, I added a sentiment that was stamped and embossed with black embossing powder and slipped it into the frame.

When I got these products, I immediately thought of Frida Kahlo with that image on the stamp.  Frida was an amazing female Mexican artist in the 1940's-1950's.  She used her heart and soul in every artwork she created and you can see the story of her life in her work!  She went through so many tragic and painful experiences but didn't let that affect her ability to make art.  In fact, it was therapy for her!
