Fluidity in Compositions

Thrive_A

Hello, friends!  Vivian here today with my second post as a Guest Blogger with Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft.  Did you know that yesterday was Make Your Dreams Come True Day?  Well, in honor of this meaningful day, I crafted this Art Journaling page along with a coordinatingvideo tutorial in which I share some techniques for creating fluidity in your compositions.

The dreams I have for myself as I approach the big FOUR OH bear no resemblance to the dreams I had for myself growing up - they're not nearly as outrageous, but in some sense, equally difficult to realize.

This tireless performer in our Vegas garden very much encapsulates what I'd like to see for myself artistically this year - the ability to thrive with little coddling, and spiritually - to respond in trying situations the way this one below truly embraces the scorching Vegas sun.

Birthday Crown - Strawberry & Cream Cupcake - 500
A sweet paper crown for a little girl’s 1st Year Birthday. Easy and fun to make! Cupcakes have such a childish and fun feeling that makes them the ideal addition to any party. I decided to “make” my own hand coloured papers using Gelatos and Art GRIP© Color Pencils to achieve this feeling.

Art With The Stamper's Big White Pen!

Artjen

I had the chance to work with The NEW Stamper's Big White Pen! I knew it would look amazing on a black background so I painted black gesso over a piece of mixed media paper and when it dried, I drew on it with the Big Brush White pen and the white Art Grip Color Pencil.

Art Journaling on the Road, continued

Hi everyone, Mou here with a second round of pages from recent art journal that I started on the road. The great thing about working on this journal while on the road is it's true-to-the-moment authenticity... I'm copying from nature, capturing a snapshot of something unusual right before my eyes... there's something very raw about it! No manipulation of camera settings, no photoshop editing, just a study of what I don't see in my everyday surroundings. No pretty papers, no fancy embellishments, just a little bit of white space for me to claim anyway I can. Even more authentic because I have proof that I was there that day... that National Park stamp that people use on their National Park passports... I used them to stamp my journal.

Ready for fall!

100_4108

Hi folks! It's Jill here and let me tell you, I don't know about everyone else, but this hot summer has me dreaming of crisp fall weather and the beautiful colors of the changing leaves.  This card is a reflection of my recent fall weather dreams:

Art GRIP® Color Pencils (109, 115, 126, 167) were used to color the pumpkins.  And the blue background was created with one of my favorite Gelato™ techniques--emboss resist.  Begin by stamping your image with VersaMark ink onto white paper, sprinkle with white embossing powder, and heat to set. Color directly onto the paper and over the embossing with Cotton Candy Gelato™.  Work in small sections, blending with your finger as you go.
