Hello there, Mou here today with an on-the-go travel journal tutorial for you using various Faber-Castell® Design Memory Craft® products along with a Clear Scraps Chipboard and Acrylic album!
You can approach an on-the-go travel journal in several ways - I sometimes approach it by creating the backgrounds in advance. This inspires me to work on the journal when I am traveling because I am not starting a blank journal which like a blank canvas can sometimes be daunting. Moreover, I have colorful pages to work on without having to carry a ton of products with me. In this case, I will be carrying just the brush tip pen from the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Essential PITT Artist Pens BLACK set.
So, let's get started!
Start by applying a few coats of Faber-Castell® Design Memory Craft® Textural Accent Gesso.
Ink up a background stamp with Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Stamper's Big Brush pen colors #133 Magenta and #118 Scarlet Red from the Stamper's Big Brush 3 ct RED. Stamp randomly on the colored chipboard pieces to add some interest to the page. Remember, this is just part of the background.
Ink up the edges of the chipboard pieces with Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Textural Accent Chalk Board Paint.
Create a cover art for your on-the-go journal. I sketched the buoys with pencil and colored them in with Gelatos® colors, Stamper's Big Brush Pens and Gesso. You can stamp, attach an image or even leave space for photos you'll take on your travel.
TIP: If you feel that a journal or an album does not have enough pages for your entire trip, you can ADD pages!
I traced the chipboard pieces on cardstock, cut them out with scissors and punched holes to fit.
I hope you enjoyed today's tutorial and are inspired to take a journal with you on your travels!
