Lemon Yellow + Glittering Gray Bracelet

Hello friends!  I've got a bright and vibrant project to share with you today that combines Gelatos® color of the week, Lemon with elements that sparkle and shine in shades of gray and silver.  This glittering bracelet project keeps your art close to you as a one-of-a-kind accessory!

The wooden clasp is the star piece of this chunky 5-strand bracelet that features crystal glass beads and has an organic feel with dyed yellow stone beads to complement the wood element.

Let me share with you how I got the look.  Here's what you'll need (see below for a list of products and colors used in this design):

You'll be able to use your Paper Crafter Crayons in combination with stencils (or freehand a design) and give the wood rich color with Gelatos® color of the week, Lemon! The mixture of cool crystals , earthy wood and stone beads as well as silver spacers make this bracelet a beautiful piece to complement your summer attire! Beginner as well as advanced jewelry makers will love to make this simply-styled bracelet.

Begin by creating your design or pattern on the wood clasp using Paper Crafter Crayons.  Simple silver dots are featured here, but there are so many stencils to choose from!

Next, add pigment to the wood by applying Gelatos® color directly to it.  Spread the color evenly over the entire piece by using a small amount of water - the Deluxe Water Brush is a perfect companion for the heavy color used here.

Because Gelatos® are easily blended with water, you'll need to seal your design with a generous coat of Faber-Castell® Design Memory Craft Glaze.

Finally, string beads in various patterns in shades of silver and gray along with a few yellow accents onto 12-inch strands of .8mm stretch bead cord.  When you have strung 6.5 inches of beads onto each of the 5 strands, feed the cord through each of the holes.  Thread a crimp bead onto the cord inside the channel on the underside of the clasp, and use a pair of crimp pliers to secure it.  The crimp bead acts as a stopper so that the cords stay in place!  Repeat the process for the other half of the clasp, and trim away the excess cord with scissors.

All that's left is to wear your new piece out and enjoy saying, "Thanks, I made it myself!"
