Hi fellow mixed media enthusiasts, Mou here today with an art journal tutorial for you using Gelatos® Snow Cone & Texture Luxe™ Gold! The soft blue of the Gelatos® Snow Cone along with the rich gold of the Texture Luxe™ turned out to be a great color combination. Let me show you how I created my art journal page.
Here's the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Gelatos® Color Snow Cone.
Start by attaching strips of book paper and pieces of lace trims to the two-page spread with Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Textural Accents Gel Medium. Seal the attachments to the pages with a top coat of Gel Medium.
Once the Gel Medium dries, color the page with the Gelatos® Color Snow Cone and blend with water.
Color a script font background stamp with the Gelatos® Color Snow Cone and stamp onto the slightly damp surface. If your stamp wasn't previously cleaned, it will reactivate some of the dried inks during this process.
In a misting bottle, put a little bit of Texture Luxe™ Gold and add water. Mix thoroughly by shaking the bottle. Holding the journal upright, spray the mix and let it drip down the page.
Lay your chosen stencil from the 102 Stencil Collection onto the journal spread and spray with more of the diluted Texture Luxe™ Gold.
Accent the color scheme with a little bit of Gelatos® Metallic Grape.
Color a small chipboard frame with Gelatos® Snow Cone. Spray the frame with the texture Luxe™ Gold mix. Attach ephemera and place the frame over it. Tuck in some found papers behind the frame and machine stitch in place to secure all the layers. You can staple the frame in place as well. Attach some words or a phrase cut out of old book paper and attach to the frame with Gel Medium to finish.
Here's a close-up of my page so you can see all the textures and how beautiful the Texture Luxe™ Gold turned out!
I hope you enjoyed my art journal tutorial and that you will experiment with this color combination on your creations!
