A layout with Texture Cards by Marie Eve Bernard

IMG_4631

Hello ,

This is already my last post as a Guest Design Team Member.   I am very happy to have been on a such wonderful team.  Thanks  Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® for the amazing opportunity !

So today, for my last project, I made a layout with the Texture Cards.  This tool is great for any type of mixed media project. It allow you to easily create texture in a variety of mediums: Whipped Spackle, Texture Luxe™, Texture Gems ™, Gesso, , Gel Medium... The Texture Cards are easy to clean and comes with a metal ring for easy storage.  You have 8 differents patterns.

On my project, I put the Whipped Spackle through a stencil and I add texture by rubbing the Texture Card on the medium (my stencil was still in place).

Thankful Bunting Decor with Jen

P1040548

Hi Artsy Friends!  I have a fun Autumn/ Thanksgiving project for you!  I found an adorable blank bunting at the dollar spot in a big name store all ready for decorating! It is kraft and came with eight triangle pieces already threaded on a piece of long twine.  It was perfect for a mantel!   I was inspired when I found the blank banner and knew I wanted to have it decorate my mantel. So, I cut eight smaller triangles out of mixed media paper and added stamping, color and Whipped Spackle mixed with Gelatos® colors.  Here's the result on my mantel.

Painted pumpkin with Rita Barakat

5-IMG_0218

Hey there Creatives Rita Barakat here today sharing my fall pumpkin made with PITT Artist pens, Gesso, chalkboard paint and Texture Gems!  I love fall; the change in the weather, kids going back to school and fall decorations! I love decorating with warm fall colors like oranges, browns, reds, most of my home is traditional but I also like to shake it up a bit by adding unexpected decorations like this this black and white painted pumpkin!!( Could it be that this purple and blue haired girl likes to shake things  up? I am thinking so!

2-IMG_0210

If you want to paint a pumpkin, first you need to wash and dry it.

3-IMG_0211
It has a slick surface so you need to coat with a layer of Gesso. (Of course you can use a craft pumpkin but I used a real one - painting is much better than carving in my opinion! (Besides the inside make my hands itch, but I digress...)
4-IMG_0212
I started out drawing sections with a pencil. Then I added different designs but after a few sections I started thinking; I am going to have trace these sections with a pen so I decided to grab my PITT pen in black and just go for it!

Once my designs were done I grabbed a small paint brush and the chalkboard paint and filled in some of the areas.

I liked how it came out but I felt like it needed a little polish so I grabbed Texture Gems in Gold, drawing lines, small dots with a Qtip and big dots with the sponge tip applicator. It was a perfect finish!  The Texture Gems really does look like liquid gold! Those mixed media products really come in handy when decorating for fall! Do you paint or carve your pumpkins?

 Blessings!

"Happy Owls" Mixed Media Canvas Featuring Faber-Castell Stencils

GelatosStencils_

Hi Creative Artists!

It's Jill from Glimmerbug.com for my final post as a Guest Design Team Member for Design Memory Craft. I have had such an incredibly fun time working with everyone on the team to create some of these projects that we've brought to you over the last few months and I'm actually really bummed out that my time has come to an end. But hopefully you'll all visit me on my site at www.glimmerbug.com to keep in touch!

I love owls. Obsessed with them, actually. They're my favorite, favorite thing to draw and I always seem to find them in home decor stores so they're pretty much all over my house too!

Today I wanted to share with you a canvas that I created using the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Stencils, Gelatos® and a few other items you probably already have in your stash. Let's get started!

Creating skin tones with Rita Barakat

8-IMG_0119Hey there creatives Rita Barakat here! Lets talk about skin color and how to achieve different looks with Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft®.

2-IMG_0113
There are a myriad of options in the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® line, today I will cover two - Art GRIP® Aquarelle Watercolor Pencils & Gelatos® Colors. Here I started with light colors 111 for the skin and 123 for blush and lips. Lightly coloring in the face. Building layers of color is always a good technique.

4-IMG_0115
I am using a water filled pen to blend the colors. Of course the more water you use the lighter the color. You can go back and add more color to shade and add depth. But for a very fair complexion these colors work well together.

5-IMG_0116
Making darker shades is easy by adding layers of color. Here I am adding Gelatos® Colors on top, just a few areas with a Chocolate Gelatos® Colors.  ( I am cracking up because it almost looks as though I was going to give her a goatee! But I digress...)

6-IMG_0117
It is much easier to add color than take away, the chocolate color is very dark and needed some warmth so I added a little Cinnamon and Peach. I add a little at a time, blended, then add ed more  color if I need it.

7-IMG_0118
When you are happy with here coloring stop: I am good with this. Now to add some hair color and details...

Blessings!
