Halloween Boo Journal Board

Happy Halloween my crafty friends! It's Lisa here with you today and I have a super easy and fun project for you to make for either a decor piece OR as a page in your journal. Your choice.  Cool right?

LisaAdametz-Boo-1

This project was very fun to make and, yes, a tiny bit on the messy side.

I started off with a Square Journal Board that I coated in Gesso and 3 chipboard letters - painted in Chalkboard Paint. When the Gesso was dry on the Journal Board I applied VERY heavy layers of Gelatos® (in the following colors: Gelatos® Double Scoop® Black Licorice, Red Cherry, Mango and also reg. size Metallic Grape, Metallic Blueberry, and Black Cherry) all over the board. Then I used a paintbrush to "paint" the Gelato® colors and allow it to move and drip.

I dried it at this point and then rubbed the Gelatos® in wherever I wanted directly with my fingers. I added tiny bits of Chalkboard Paint from what was left on my brush on the edges. And dried again. And then I added just a touch of Glass Bead Glitter Gel.

To do the "mummy gauze" effect, I used a piece of cheesecloth and a tiny bit of Chalkboard Paint mixed with a spritz of water. I smooshed the cheesecloth into the Chalkboard Paint/water mixture and it comes out in a grey/black/white color. Very cool! And then I dry it with my heat tool. (I'm very impatient.)

I adhered the cheesecloth to the Journal Board and the Chipboard letters to the cheesecloth. I then added some Glass Bead Glitter Gel to my letters. But...It needed more. EYES! However, I don't "do" googly eyes. So I had to make my own. ;) I used some pearls and then used a punch tool for pupils. And voila'! Eyes! I wanted them to look scary, but you can see that they had a mind of their own.

Here are some close-ups for you:

With the rings that come with either size of Journal Boards (the Square or mini)  it's easy to add them to your own personal Journal OR you can add twine, ribbon or any other embellishment to make them into fun, home decor. What will you make with your Journal Boards?

Thanks for joining me today and Happy Haunting!

  P1040850

Hi everyone! It's Christina (seena) Young here with a pretty collage project that is simple to put together using matte medium. As October ends I'm thinking ahead to the holiday season. All the festivities inspired my canvas. Well, that and I stumbled upon a used bookshop going out of business and scored some wonderful sheet music for a song (ha ha).

A Simple Thank You....

Card wm

Hello Everyone!  Krista here today to share with you a sweet little thank you card you can whip up in no time!  I know the theme isn't shouting fall, but I'm trying to cling on to the last shred of hope it will stay warmer just a little bit longer ;)  This card was definitely fun to make.  I used lots of different mediums since I wanted to create a variety of visual interest with texture!  If you know me you know how much I love my Gelatos®!!!  Its hard for me not to use them on everything I create!  This card is no exception!

Be Merry Tag Duo

DeeDee Catron - Be Merry tag Duo

Hello everyone! :) DeeDee here today, super excited to be inspiring you using the amazing range of products from Faber Castell Design Memory Craft®. Today's project and tutorial come in the form of a Tag Duo and video.

As much as I totally adore Halloween, I have found myself gravitating towards Christmas already. The glittery snow (not now that I live in Las Vegas, lol) the jingle bells and warm tidings. It speaks to my soul this year! So I'm jumping in head first with some tags that will be perfect either on my mantle, hanging from my tree, or even tied to presents.

Here they are.... Be Merry Tags.

Jewelry hanger canvas by Baerbel Born

Born

Dear fans of Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® products, I am so proud to be on the fall/winter team 2014! For my first project I decided to make something traditional and useful, my colorful canvas will serve as a jewelry hanger from now on and help me to present and display my earrings and necklaces.

My inspiration for this project is a summary of many years of crafting experience: I teached in many craft workshops and often they had one thing in common: The crafters didn't dare to paint or write by hand. It has always been my wish to help all those friends and artists who need some help with their paintings.

If you find an image or text you like, you can transfer it onto your canvas! All you need is tissue paper or paper napkin and a ball pen.

How you can copy and transfer any image to your painting I will show you in my video. I made the video with a quote that matches the topic: 'So many things carelessly discarded, will be picked up and turned into a jewel for someone else.' (George Meredith)

But please keep in mind the technique will also work for images, like faces or houses....
