Blog Hop With Hazel & Ruby: Today's project with Tiffany

H&R Faber-Castell logo

Hello Blogosphere! It's Tiffany here and this week we'll be pairing with the fabulous Hazel and Ruby! Each day this week, we’ll post a new project on our blogs. Make sure you hop to both blogs and the Facebook page for more chances to win our giveaways!

1. Add the self-sticking rectangular border from one of the Alpha Stencil-Masks to the pallette sign. Trace the border with a matching Art GRIP Aquarelle Watercolor Pencil. Color outer border with Gelatos Double-Scoop.

2. Blend with water using a foam brush & allow to dry. This will stain the wood.

3. Add a coat of Glaze. This will seal the color & add some sheen.

4. Apply gesso to the inside of the finished border with a large brush. Allow to dry.

 5. Cut Ephemera Collage Pass the Tissues to fit inside rectangular border & apply using a coat of Gel Medium under & on top to seal. Allow to dry.

6. Color with the Blood Orange Gelato & blend with wet brush. Add the Chalk Art & Blindside Alphas Stencils-Masks quote & add a coat of gesso on top. Peel away the stencils-masks & the color from the gelatos will be revealed!

Leave a comment here and on the Hazel and Ruby blog for a chance to win $50 in product from Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft and XXXX (Hazel and Ruby is still confirming this! ) from Hazel and Ruby! For another chance to win, leave a comment on our Facebook page and the Hazel and Ruby Facebook page. International participants are welcome.

I keep looking at your tag because there is so much too see. Wonderful and creative use of products, beautiful shimmer and fun texture. That is a pretty interesting stamp too. I don't have any glitter gems yet but they do look like they would be fun to experiment with.

Dear Jen, Our son is an astrophysicist. I will absolutely love making something like this for him. I am not nearly as talented as you are, so there will be a few (many) changes, but I know it will make him smile. Thank you. Dee

  • Tricia Ann on Be Strong Tag Using Texture Gems - With Lisa

Lisa, your tag is awesome! I love, love, love the beautiful colors and textures you chose, as well as the way you put them together. I opened an email today from Faber-Castell about the Ustream Class on Wed., May 27, 2015. I watched the DIY All Occasion Party Banner and made a comment to be entered in the giveaway. The demonstrator (I couldn't find her name anywhere) said that if we comment on the blog we have a chance at winning the grand prize. I couldn't find a link to your blog anywhere on the Ustream page. I went to Faber-Castell website and couldn't find anywhere to write a comment. I went through the Ustream video several times to find out how to get to the page where I was to leave a comment. FINALLY, I discovered that Faber-Castell has a blog. I've looked throughout this blog and couldn't find a place to leave a comment about joining you for the Ustream class on May 27th. When I browsed through the site, the sections are not dated so I had to keep searching. At last I settled on writing to you here on your texture tag demo. Where should I leave a comment to register for the grand prize? Thank you!
