New Beginnings Layout by Zoey
Hello everyone! It is me again, Zoey! Missed me??
Today I want to show you a layout I made , that it is just a burst of warm colors!!
I started off by covering the middle of my base with Gesso and I let it dry.
One thing that I love to do with Gelatos® is to use them with stencils. In the following photo you can see what I mean! I placed the stencil over the background and I just scribbled a bit of Blood Orange Gelatos® over it. I then grabbed my Deluxe Waterbrush and, while the stencil was still on the background, I painted over it filling in the spots left without color.
I also did that with a different kind of stencil, one with more open spaces. I scribbled the color over the stencil but this time, instead of blending it with the Delux Waterbrush, I used my finger. Since my finger was dry, it did not blend the whole thing, and left some chunk of colors that added more texture! Lovely uh?
With the Orange Glaze Stamper's Big Brush Pen I did my stamping. The India Ink make the stamp waterproof, so it is perfect with mixed media layout because they will be permanent once they dry. I just love how crisp is the stamped image! I did the same thing with another color, Pink Madder Stamper's Big Brush Pen
When the background satisfied me, I added some texture with the Whipped Spackle. There are no words to describe how much I love this product. Is SO easy to add it to your projects, it goes so smooth over anything...plus is sooo light yet so thick once that is dried.
I recently discovered another really great media, and I am talking about Paper Crafter CrayonsTM . I used them as "normal" Crayons and did some doodling. For this project I decided to use the Paper Crafter Crayons RedYellow (#770520) since they were the PERFECT match for my layout.
With the Color Dot System , choosing what Faber Castell Design Memory Craft® color combination use is made really simple, and it was so easy for me to MIX and MATCH all these different media.
To add the "final" touch before adding the cluster layers, I decided to color the part where the cardboard was ruined with some more orange. To do this, I picked some color straight from the Tangerine Gelatos® - You will not ruin your Gelatos® by doing this don't worry!!
Then all was left to do was adding my cluster, some drops of color here and there (I made the spray mix as explained in my last post here and I used the Bubble Gum Gelatos® ) and add my title.
What do you think?! I hope this post will inspire you somehow...maybe next time you are about to put out the trash you will "save" that piece of cardboard ;-)
Now I will show you some photo of the whole project and some details!
