Beautiful Tag

Hi crafty friends it's Lisa with a fun tag for you today using just a few supplies for a WOW effect!

BeautifulTag

Tags are really great to make as an alternative to a card or a canvas. Let's get started:

I started with a large tag and just three colors of Gelatos® in Snow Cone, Metallic Melon, and Banana.

Tag1

Then simple just scribble the Gelatos® heavily into a random pattern onto the tag, like this. (Not overlapping the colors. Or at least TOO much. Lol!)

Tag2

Next up I misted my work surface and pressed my tag into it (instead of misting the tag). Then I let the colors drip a little and dry.  You can either let it air dry or dry with a heat tool. Either is fine. (Misting is kind of boring, so no photo...sorry.)

I used punchinella or sequin waste as a stencil. I love the cool things that can be used as texture! Look around and see what you have. I used the punchinella, two colors of Gelatos® (Squid Ink and Silver Ice), and a Dot Dabber to create the look I wanted.

Tag4

** Challenge yourself to find something different and use it on a card or tag yourself. Maybe bubble wrap as a stamp? Tissue paper as a background? There are no limits. Think outside the box. **

I then just finished up the tag by stamping the large sentiment on some cardstock weight vellum and heat embossing it then attaching it to the tag with staples. For the smaller tag this was a die cut, but handled in the same way. I attached it to the larger tag with a tiny clothespin (not sure where I got it from, but I have TONS!), which was glued in place using Gel Medium (I love that stuff).

The final touch was to add some paper flower embellishments. Flowers make everything look prettier. :) Oh! And I also added some shading around the word "Beautiful" with my Stamper's Big Brush Pen in Cobalt Green #156,

Super easy and super pretty. Wouldn't this be wonderful to give to a friend? I think so.

Thanks so much for joining me today on the blog!

Love your tag Lisa! It is more simple than I thought when I first saw it! You are most inspiring! I want to go make some mixed media tags with my Gelatos right now! :) Thanks so much and have a great weekend!

Very nice Lisa!!! Love the faux-texture the stencil gives. At first I thought you had used gesso or an embossing paste. Lovely! Love it! <3

Gorgeous! Inspires me to make a tag or card with Gelatos!
