Mix & Match With Metallics
Hi! Jeanne Streiff here today!
I love the look of metallics on a neutral background. This look is very easy to achieve with Mix & Match products from Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft®! I found this old picture of my family and I thought it would be fun to do a single picture 8" x 8" vintage scrapbook page.
The little one is me... so I guess I'm a little vintage myself.
I started by painting Gesso onto white cardstock. This gives a nice base layer and lets the colors stay on the page instead of soaking into the paper.
I misted with water (Misting Bottle (Mist Maker Set) and then added Squid Ink Gelatos®, Earl Grey Gelatos®, and Gold Champagne Gelatos®. After I had the Gelatos® color on the way I wanted them, I misted with water again and tilted my paper and let the colors run together and drip. Dry with a heat tool.
Rub Silver Ice Gelatos® through a second stencil (I used my finger) for a metallic pop.
To create my border I inked up the stamp from Mix & Match Gelatos® & Stamp Set Green with a Gold Metallic PITT® Artist Pen and stamped repeatedly along the edge. For my accent I wrapped twine around my hand a few times and then tied in a knot.
I finished my page with a wee bit of journaling with a PITT® Artist Pen (Black S) and added a few pearls on the side of the picture.
