Chalkboard Fun!

Lil-house-final2

Hi Faber-Castell Fans - Karen here again!!  I had SO much fun playing with the Faber-Castell Chalkboard Paint and PITT® Pastel Pencils -  it was one of those projects that just worked from the start and I loved the finish!

My first thought was to create the house with just the PITT® Pastel Pencils because they work SO well on the chalkboard paint, but I thought I would mix it up and add some paper to the mix!!

I created this project on a square piece of wood and I used Gesso to cover the whole board.

After the Gesso dried I applied a couple of coats of  Chalk Board Paint.

Then I grabbed scrapbook paper and cut out the pieces for a cute little house.  I used gel medium on the back of the paper and then used it to glue the pieces down.  I was careful not to get the gel medium on the chalkboard paint! (In the places I did get the gel outside of the house, I touched it up with chalkboard paint and it covered it right up!  Lucky me!!)

After the gel medium dried I took out my PITT® Pastel Pencils and used them to doodle and add sweet touches to the picture.  The PITT® Pastel Pencils work like chalk on the chalkboard! So fun!

I used white and gray to outline and shadow the house. I used a chalk eraser when I made a mistake! (Because I tend to make  A LOT of those!!)

I thought I was done, but decided to use paper circles and to make flowers for a punch of color!  I kept doodling and used my Pitt Pens to highlight the paper.

When I was all done, I just loved the finished project!!  I hope you enjoyed it too!! Take out the chalk paint, the PITT® Pastel Pencils and PLAY - you will be glad you did!!  -Karen
