It's Linda here! I know, I know, it's only JUST October and I'm already talking about Christmas but trust me, it'll be here before we know it! If every other year is anything to go by, I'll be freaking out around December 20th because I have ZERO cards made so I thought I'd get started early :)
Today I thought I'd show you some cards that demonstrate how well Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® products (specifically Gelatos ®) can work for simpler crafting projects. For those of you who aren't 'into' mixed media or canvasses, altered items etc, today's post is for you :)
To start with, I took the tag stamp from the brand new Santa's Tags by Neat and Tangled, and heat embossed the image onto watercolour paper.
Gelatos Bubble Gum® and Gelatos Guava®; Gelatos Blueberry® and Gelatos Snow Cone®; Gelatos Tangerine® and Gelatos Lemon®; Gelatos Green Tea® and Gelatos Lime ®.
On each tag, I took the darker coloured Gelato® first, and laid down some colour onto the top of the tag, then did the same with the lighter colour, on the bottom of the tag (as you can see below)
Then I spritzed wtih water using my mister bottle from the Essential Tools set, and with my finger, I rubbed the water into the colours, being sure to overlap in the centre, so the two colours would blend.
Next I wiped over the entire surface (going in the same direction that I used my fingers, to save smearing/swipe marks) with a dry rag. This removed any extra colour from the top of the embossed areas and allowed the great tag image to show through.
To add a fun bit of bling to my cards, I took some tiny wooden clothes pegs I got from the craft store, and I added some glitter to them, by smearing some Gel Medium® onto one side/face, then sprinkling the glitter over the top. The Gel Medium® does a fantastic job of holding the glitter right in place!
Here is a look at the final cards;
I hope you like them and take the opportunity to have a play with some fun products from Design Memory Craft soon!
Thank you so much for visiting and I'll see you again very soon!
Have an amazing, crafty day!
