Fall Themed Thank You Card
Hi everyone, it's Stephanie here and today I have a fall themed card to share using the Paper Crafter Crayons™ and a fun technique. ;)
One of my favourite memories from childhood was art class in school in the fall. Every year, without fail, we always went on a walk around the school to collect leaves so we could make beautiful, vibrant leaf rubs to take home and hang on the fridge. I always loved the unique design that each leaf would make when coloured over with a crayon and I really wanted to try and mimic that on a card.
To create my card, I did the following steps using just a few supplies:
Diecut leaves out of cardstock using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Leaves dies. (I picked these specific dies, because they have a great stitching detail where the veins of the leaves would be and you need these for this technique to work.) Once you have them diecut, set the dies aside and using the negative pieces, trace leaves with pencil all over a piece of 2 1/4" x 4 1/4" cardstock until it is completely covered.
Once the leaves are all drawn on, take a black PITT Artist Pen and completely trace over all of the leaves.
Hold your piece of cardstock in front of a window or light (so you can see the outline of the leaves through the back of the cardstock) and adhere the actual leaf die over the outline and secure with washi tape.
Then take the Paper Crafter Crayons™ in the colours you want and using firm pressure, colour in the leaves one at a time. (you need to move the dies around on the cardstock so that they are always underneath the leaf you are colouring.) I started with a lighter colour in the middle and then added darker colours as I got near the edges. As you colour, you'll see the cool pattern start to show through, mimicing the same look as old school leaf rubbing. ;)
Once you have them all completely coloured in, lay a paper towel over top of the coloured piece and quickly iron to remove any excess wax from the crayons and 'set' the colour.
Then you can take your finished piece and adhere it to a card front and add a stamped sentiment strip, a button and some twine to complete the card. ;)

Stephanie Klauck Hi my name is Stephanie and I am a working mom of two and wife of one from Ontario, Canada. I have been a paper crafter for over ten years and love the creative outlet that this hobby provides. I have made so many amazing friendships and met some wonderful people in the craft industry. When I'm not crafting, I can usually be found reading, watching my favourite TV shows and spending time with my family being crazy and silly. Laughter is a must in my home and I am a from believer that life is too short to be too serious.
