A Gesso-ed 2004 Halloween
Hello! Margie here to share a scrapbook page as we in the U.S. are about to celebrate Halloween! Although my kids are older, I go back in time (9 years ago! WOW - time flies!) to capture those memories using a little mixed media for my page. Aren't the papers cute? They're from BoBunny Press' Fright Delight Collection!
I started with Gesso. I layered two coats of gesso with drying time between each coat.
When dried, I applied layers of colors, misting and Gesso. I used Tangerine, Red Cherry and Lemon Gelatos®, rubbed the colors in and misted with water to create drips. To tone down the color, I added Gesso and spread the colors across the page.
To highlight the stenciled designs, I misted the Black Gelatos with water, painted the outlines and rubbed into the paper to create shadows.
I wanted to embellish the top left corner, I cut/embossed/stenciled S4-282 Witches Brew witch die with Metallic Grape Gelatos. I cut/embossed/colored S4-114 Standard Circles LG die with Tangerine and Lemon Gelatos. Then I adhered all over the textured design.
For embellishments, I fussy cut a skeleton and layered journal cards and stickers. I used Tangerine Gelatos to color the edges. Aren't they just cute?!
Here's another look at the scrapbook page...
