Colorful butterflies.

Kasia

Hello dear friends! Kasia Krzymińska here. I'm so happy and honoured to be here and I can't wait to share with you my very first project made as a Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® guest designer. What I prepared for you is  very simple tag with hand-drawn butterflies.

First step was to create background. I covered manila tag with thin and irregular layer of gesso.

When it was completely dry I started with my Gelatos® Colors. I worked on craft sheet so I used them directly on it.

2

Next step was to add a little bit of water on them with my atomiser and to delight how they beautifully blended together :)

3

Do you know I could stop working right now and just repeat these steps only to watch blending colors for hours?
That was sooo inspiring! But what I actually did is that:

4

When it was dry I startet sketching my butterflies using PITT® Artist Pens. Because of their different nibs I could create my butterflies using thin lines as well as wide brush strokes.

5

Then I started coloring using Art GRIP® Aquarelle Watercolor Pencils and water. India ink in PITT® Artist Pens is permanent and waterproof when dry so you don't have to worry that your sketch will blurry.

6

I also used white PITT® Artist Pen on my drawing to add some glimmer.

And here is my tag after some stamping and misting:

Beautiful tag!

Love how you created your tag - it's beautiful! From start to finish, you can re-create these techniques in any projects. So versatile - a great reminder of how wonderful these products are <3

Gorgeous tags Kasia! I know what you mean about watching the colours blend together! Very Inspiring!

Delightful!!!

Beautiful! I don't have any Gelatos yet, but I think I really need some ...... :o)

I keep looking at your tag because there is so much too see. Wonderful and creative use of products, beautiful shimmer and fun texture. That is a pretty interesting stamp too. I don't have any glitter gems yet but they do look like they would be fun to experiment with.

Dear Jen, Our son is an astrophysicist. I will absolutely love making something like this for him. I am not nearly as talented as you are, so there will be a few (many) changes, but I know it will make him smile. Thank you. Dee

Lisa, your tag is awesome! I love, love, love the beautiful colors and textures you chose, as well as the way you put them together. I opened an email today from Faber-Castell about the Ustream Class on Wed., May 27, 2015. I watched the DIY All Occasion Party Banner and made a comment to be entered in the giveaway. The demonstrator (I couldn't find her name anywhere) said that if we comment on the blog we have a chance at winning the grand prize. I couldn't find a link to your blog anywhere on the Ustream page. I went to Faber-Castell website and couldn't find anywhere to write a comment. I went through the Ustream video several times to find out how to get to the page where I was to leave a comment. FINALLY, I discovered that Faber-Castell has a blog. I've looked throughout this blog and couldn't find a place to leave a comment about joining you for the Ustream class on May 27th. When I browsed through the site, the sections are not dated so I had to keep searching. At last I settled on writing to you here on your texture tag demo. Where should I leave a comment to register for the grand prize? Thank you!
