Ombre Color Mist with Gelatos®
Hello everyone! Heidi, here today with another Guest Designer post. I have a tutorial to share with you on making your own color mists using Gelatos®.
Here is the card that I designed using three different colors of mist. Going from the darkest to the lightest give a beautiful Ombre look to the paper.
To start I used a craft knife to shave off some of the Gelatos® into a small container. Then I add a little warm water, mix to active the Gelatos®, add more water and continue to mix until the color is blended. I pour the color mix in to a small misting bottle and then I am ready to go.
For this project I made three different colors of the mist. The first one is the lightest color using Snow Cone. For the medium color mist I used Snow Cone and Metallic Blueberry and for the darkest color mist I used Metallic Blueberry.
I started with the darkest color at the top of the paper aand worked my way to the lightest color. I applied the mist until I achived the look I was wanting.
For the sentiment I used the Moments of Joy stamp from Penny Black and the Stamper's Big Brush Pen Black #199. Then I used S5-156 Labels Twenty-Nine die template from Spellbinders Paper Arts® to create the die cut.
Here is a close up of the butterflies. I also added some tiny white pearls to the bodies of the butterflies.
Here is a close up of the sentiment. I used 3D Foam Squares to pop up the sentiment.
To finish off the card I added a bow made with a beautiful hand dyed blue silk ribbon.
If you haven't already tried making your own color mists I hope you will give it a try. Thanks so much for stopping by the Design•Memory•Craft Blog today!
Have a great weekend!
