Hunting Easter Eggs Scrapbook Layout

Easter19891

Hi everyone, it's Anita and today I want to share a layout with you. I only had two small photos of my girls from this Easter (this was pre-digital era) so I wanted to use a lot of color and texture, but not neccesarily a ton of "stuff" that would overshadow my photos.

I started by using Gelatos® to color modeling creme and applied it to my background paper using a stencil.

Once it was dry I applied two colors of Gelatos® to a small piece of sponge and rubbed the color lightly over the raised area. You can blend the colors right on the foam sponge and apply directly to your project!

I used Art GRIP® Aquarelle Watercolor Pencils to color the butterflies by outlining in a darker color and adding accents on the wings with a lighter color. I blended with a small brush and water. This one shown has a lighter outline and is the pale butterfly on the layout. The darker butterfly on the layout I used a much thicker outline.

I really wanted to use these banners on my layout, but they just weren't the right color. Inking them would not give me the result I wanted. So I got out another piece of foam sponge and applied a little bit of Metalic Rose Gelatos® to it and buffed the edges of the paper all the way around. It covered up the white edges and colored them just enough to blend in to the color scheme I was using. I also used this same sponge, with more of the same color applied, to tint the edges of my flowers.

To get the bright green color on my wooden leaves I used a base coat of PITT® Pastel Pencil, two colors of Gelatos® - Margarita mix on the inside of the leaves and Banana on the outer edges. I finished up with my Stamper's Big Brush Pen in May Green #170 for the veins.  I used my PITT® Journal Pen in XS for all my journaling.

I am so sad to say this is my last post as a Guest Design Team Member for Faber-Castell® Design Memory Craft. I have had a wonderful time with this great group of ladies and hope to work with them again in the future.  Happy Scrapping everyone :o)
