I love the subtle colours you used, especiallythat mixture of ivory & grey. Your use of the flehs toned paper behind the pocket serves to pull the facial aspects of the whole layout to the eye's attention beautifully.
Love the resist technique with the Big Brush pens too.

ooooh, the gold embossing on your ombre creations is just stunning! Wonderful tutorial too : )
Indeed, a common technique, but definitely a not-so-common result! Love that the "colors" are all neutrals, and as such, go so well with the mix of photos. A beautiful layout, and well-written/photographed tutorial. Love this!
Your pages are so unique & fabulous, Alexandra--just the right backgrounds & embellishments to add to the appeal & not detract from the pictures. Today's background is one of my favorites--so elegant & beautiful! Thanks for the clear directions.
You are soooooooooo amazing!! I just love this!! LOVING those colors!!!
Great post - love seeing pictures of the Hobby Show! Hope to go one of these days - maybe next year :) Those plastic dolls have been in Japan for decades - too funny!
Favorite crafting tip is to organize embellishments by color.

You don't have to waste ink that is leftover on your craft sheet. I love to spray it with water and mop it up with seam binding, ribbon, or canvas. I have even seen some great projects made with 'mop up' tags or pieces of paper. Thanks for sharing.

write down your ideas when they hit! Like in the middle of the night, or sitting at
a traffic light. And when in doubt, embellish!

My favorite crafting tip is to never stop experimenting. When you find a new style or technique, try it at least once before you decide if you like it or not. You may be surprised to find something you like outside your typical comfort zone or style.

You can have the perfect layout, but if you don't journal enough, people may not apprecisate what you ahve done in 5 or 10 years...you cannot overjournal! Especially for your kids. When you are gone, they will still have your scrapbooks with your "voice".

Put ribbon though your Zyron to make it adhesive instead of using messy glue.

If you don't have a brad in the correct color of your card or project, tap it really well onto a versamark ink pad until the head is well coated. Then holding it with craft tweezers, dip it into the coordinating color of embossing powder, use your heat tool, and voila, a perfectly matched brad!

Carry a small notepad with you to write down thoughts for your journaling when you take photos to remember how you were feeling or the person in the picture was saying or reacting . It is a big help to tell the story about the pictures.

Scotch double sided tape works great and is really strong - don't always have to use expensive scrapping adhesive.

You don't need to tell every story. Work with pictures and stories you love. It is more fun and satisfying.
Thanks

Always find somewhere on your layout, whether on show or hidden , to add journalling as you may know the person or event but it is the future generations that won't and I know how frustrating it is to have all these wonderful heritage photos and not have the foggiest idea as to who they are.
