One Door Opens - Mixed Media layout
The phrase, "One door closes so another can open" comes to mind when I think of the blessings and disappointments in life. When something happens, we often don't understand the meaning but if we think about how things happen for a reason, it all seems better! This layout is a tribute to that idea.
Modeling paste through sequin waste or a circle dot stencil gives lots of texture and then some lines drawn through using the other end of a paintbrush that comes with our Faber- Castell Design Memory Craft Mix and Match Mixed Media sets. Once it dried, I used my Gelato sprays (see this post here for a how to) over a wooden bird shape and allowed it to drip down through the dots.
The pink Gelato spray was added as an accent and a shot of color!
Here you can see the texture and the bird shape well. The Gelato sprays are rich and give lots of sparkle when you add Metallic colors in there!
I used PITT Artist pens for the journaling on this layout. I love how smooth they write on cardstock and other materials! I'm always trying to push the materials and create texture within my artwork. I love how versatile these products are!
