Mixed media journal page

Yvonne9

Hey there! It’s Yvonne here! I recently started art journaling in old books. They are perfect for letting me go crazy trying out new mediums + help me scrap a gazillion phone photos of my niece and nephews.

Step1: Start by applying gesso to book pages.

Step2: Apply each Gelato® Color to the perimeter, then use water and a paintbrush to blend. I used Green Tea, Grape and Boysenberry.

Step3: Use a coordinating Paper Crafter Crayon tm to draw a line after each Gelato® Color application. The wax serves as a resist for the next color application so you can continue to work on your page without drying it first.

Step4: Cut two windows (one on each page) for the photos.

Step5: Stamp randomly around page using a texture stamp and Stamper’s Big Brush Pens (white and black)

Step6: Embellish with washi tape, floral fabric tape, lace, pearls and paper blooms.

Step7: Add journaling with journaling PITT® Artist Pen.
